Stride & Son are an independent firm of Estate Agents & Auctioneers established in 1890. Located in the historic Cathedral City of Chichester we initially held sales in the City's Cattle Market. Having built on this original agricultural base we now offer a wide range of professional services.
Running alongside our busy Estate Agents is our thriving Auction Saleroom which holds regular antique and specialist sales.
Stride & Son is a long established local firm with a rich history dating back over 130 years when we held sales in the City's cattle market, in what is now the Cattle Market car park very close to our Auction House and Management office in St. John’s Street. The firm soon diversified from livestock auctions into property sales and lettings, land agency and property management. Our auction house now conducts regular sales of antiques, coins, silver, jewellery and toys as well as providing a house clearance service.

Tom Prower is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. Having started his career in London in 2013, he has practiced in Sussex since 2017 and has the knowledge and experience to undertake valuations of a wide range of property throughout Chichester and the surrounding area. Tom does the majority of the valuation work for the estate agency.
Nick Stride is a distinguished Estate Agent and Chartered Surveyor with an impressive track record of over 40 years-service in the Chichester area. Throughout his career, Nick has established himself as a pillar of expertise in the local real estate market.
Richard Donaldson is a highly experienced and highly motivated Estate Agent, having spent more than two decades advising clients in the local market both in Chichester and the surrounding areas. His extensive background in the industry has solidified his reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable professional.
Gillian is a seasoned professional in the property industry, boasting over two decades of dedicated service at Stride & Son. Her career has encompassed roles as an estate agent, office manager and administrator, showcasing her versatility and depth of experience.
Susie Randall is an Estate Agent with an impressive tenure of over 30 years at Stride & Son. Her long-standing commitment to the firm is a testament to her dedication and expertise in the property industry and Susie is our main contact in the office when furthering the sale process.

Peter is Saleroom Director and has over twenty years experience in the auction world, having previously worked at Sotheby’s and Bonhams. He has a good knowledge of furniture and ceramics as well a keen interest in Oriental objects. Peter is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Kevin Warne is our Saleroom Manager and has been with Strides for nearly forty years. He is an experienced auctioneer whose knowledge of the auction and antiques business is invaluable. His particular field of interest is silver, jewellery, watches, medals and militaria
Joshua is our porter and has been with us for eight years. As a young and keen member of staff Joshua is always on hand to help customers. As well as setting up and laying out the auction, Josh is our resident IT specialist.
The property management function is run by Imogen, who is also a director in the firm. She is an Associate of the RICS, a qualified Member of the Institute of Residential Property Management, and a former winner of the British Property Federation national award for highest examination marks. She has worked for Chartered Surveyors and Accountants in Sussex for 35 years and joined Stride & Son in the year 2000.
Deborah is experienced in leasehold property management, having worked in the sector for around 15 years, including within the retirement sector and with housing associations. Deborah has a particular interest in health and safety matters.
Laura has worked in leasehold property management in Surrey and London for a number of years prior to moving to Sussex recently. Laura enjoys working with Residents Management Company directors, communicating events to residents, and has a strong background in compliance matters.Laura has worked in leasehold property management in Surrey and London for a number of years prior to moving to Sussex recently.
Jacqui has responsibility for provision of pre-sales information (LPE1 information pack), for keeping ownership information up to date and for organising communication with home owners, as well as making sure our office function runs smoothly. Jacqui has experience of customer service in a range of professional settings.
Bridget has responsibility for minor repairs, for arranging routine inspections and contractor visits, and for ensuring all our contractors meet their compliance obligations. As a former Resident Management Company director Bridget is sympathetic to the challenges faced by our clients.
Anne is kept busy administering home owners’ service charge accounts and ensuring contractors are paid promptly for their work, with all the attendant record keeping this produces. Her accounting and administrative experience has been obtained across a variety of different sectors, and she enjoys helping home owners to understand their service charges.
