July 2024

Offering a complete service for Developers, Landowners and Local Planning Authorities, our specialist team work hard to get developments approved and BNG commitments met with a fully managed, bespoke and end-to-end service.

How can we help?

We are able to provide off-site units for a range of habitats, including mitigation and compensation for loss of grasslands, woodland, scrub, orchard, pond, and wetland. We are able to provide hedgerow and watercourse units in your local area, from local landowners based in Sussex, Hampshire and the South Downs National Park. Our enhancement projects are in areas which are ideal for enhancement to create wider gains for the surroundings. We have a strong network of local contacts and good relationships with local authorities including Chichester District Council, Arun District Council, South Downs National Park Authority, East Hampshire District Council, Havant Borough Council and Horsham District Council.

We are also able to undertake all required surveys, calculations and reports required to satisfy the planning process requirements through our network of qualified consultants.

What is Biodiversity Net Gain?

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is a new mandatory requirement for all developments coming under the Town and Country Planning Act to achieve a measurable gain in biodiversity of at least 10% over and above the baseline of their site.

In England, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is mandatory from 12 February 2024 under Schedule 7A of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as inserted by Schedule 14 of the Environment Act 2021). Developers must deliver a BNG of 10%.

There are limited exemptions to the requirements, such as some self-builds and reserved matters applications.

From nitrate credits to nutrient mitigation, we are here to support you to find the right environmental solution for your site needs.
